Julia R. Zay is an artist and a muse, a performer and a ritual dancer. She is a complex woman of multiple disciplines and talents, most widely recognized for her contributions to the study of Neo-classical transcendental dance. Julia is the daughter of noteworthy amateur astronomer and author George Zay (“Zay’s Meteor Observing Guide”). She is an intense personality with a mind that passionately pursues many artistic and academic subjects such as occult history, Catholic history, Mediterranean folklore, ethnomusicology, Medieval and Renaissance combat, international politics, classical battles, women’s history, herpetoculture, genealogy, figure-sketching and portrait painting. Julia continues to perform Orientale dance and Balla Guerra in between writing projects under her stage personalities, “Genisis” and “Koi Ayipaidi.” She lives in Virginia Beach, VA with her brilliant husband and two cherubs.
