Frequently known as Vargr among online and magical communities, Dave Smith has been studying and practicing magic in various forms for nearly 20 years. He was the Lawspeaker of the Northstar Kindred, and was a founding elder of the Indiana Asatru Council. His articles and reviews have appeared in the journals Konton and Idunna, as well as on his website SpikeVision (www.spikevision.org). He has indulged his lifelong love of information by working in a science library, an astronomical observatory, and as a systems analyst. Along the way, he has also been a brewer, leatherworker, performance artist, and sideshow crewman. His hobbies include industrial music, martial arts, cryptography, various types of gaming, and the acquisition of body art. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1993, and currently lives in Indianapolis, Indiana.
